Ok so I was watching the news a few days ago, (I know, gross, the news, bear with me) GMA, Good Morning America, it was just what was on at the time, but it was genuinely the craziest news segment I've ever seen. And y'know it starts out pretty normal, but then it just slowly devolves into chaos, and into the Ellen DeGeneres Show. It starts by talking about how there's been marriage equality for up to 10 years now, and it lets some of the couples talk about how awesome that is. And then it shows those same couples in the studio and at that point you're thinking "Oh ok that's kinda cool, they actually got the couples to go all the way to the news station, alright."
Then it lets them talk for a bit and then the host starts talking about how they're gonna celebrate both of the couples 10 year anniversary's right there. And then the lights turn on and they put confetti on the screens, and a bunch of people burst out with tons of rainbow stuff and donuts, and then they hand both of the couples checks for 10,000 dollars! Then I was thinking like "Oh my gosh, is this what they usually do?" and no! It's not! So like damn I guess, I should've been gay in New York than gay in an undisclosed location that is not New York. At least then I could've gotten a comically large check out of it. Also happy pride month, I'm only 4 days late. And here's the link to the news section I was talking about.
